What to look for...

When considering dealing with any of these organizations bear two things in mind:

(1) "Handloom" has more of a green, folksy, home-made, and small-planet sound than it may deserve. Products shown at this show are very likely generated in factories pehaps ten size the side of the average American table pad manufacturing establishment.

(2) The falling dollar -- widely reported by the press as a worrisome sign showing weakness in the American economy -- is steadily making imports like these "handloom" goods more expensive and, relatively speaking, American-produced products less expensive (even given our higher wages and stronger environmental regulation). In other words, if you're worried about loss of American jobs to foreign imports, the falling dollar may be your best friend!

Mother knows best! A tribute to mothers...

As a three-generation family business Superior knows how important Moms can be. Superior's "founding Mom," now a Great-Grandma, helped expand Superior from a local Chicago company to a thriving nationwide concern. Thank you, Mom!

Mothers Day is coming up on May 13th. It’s the second highest gift-giving holiday of the year with 96% of consumers taking part.

Did you know that there are 82.5 million mothers in the U.S.?

Did you know that although Mother’s Day is celebrated worldwide and that observances go back to ancient Greece, it wasn’t until 1914 that President Woodrow Wilson declared it a national holiday in the U.S. ?

Mother knows best! We know that it’s often Mom who plans family celebrations and is the one who knows to protect fine furniture with table pads. She knows to order from Superior because we’ve handcrafted table pads for generations of families.

Every year truly savvy gift shoppers know to get Mom something she really wants and will really use. What better choice than new table pads? Don’t forget pads for the buffet and kitchen table too.

When it’s not possible to measure Mom’s table in person, send one of our mail order kits. Mail order kits can do double duty as a gift certificate.
